Vancity Culture Lab

The Vancity Culture Lab is the beautiful addition to our centre. As a black box studio, all the lighting and audio technology are accessible from anywhere in the room. The seating system is comprised of movable risers that can be set up to virtually any configuration that space will allow and will seat an intimate 50 to a maximum of 100 people. The seats themselves are a lightweight removable chair that is comfortable and feels like a live performance chair. The C-Lab, as we like to refer to it, is a cinderblock construction with the latest in acoustical properties and has been referred to as the best "blackout" room in the city. The room is draped with black velour that is all on tracks allowing for any easy change to the backdrop of your production. Please contact our Rentals Co-ordinator, Jennifer Spry for a tour.

SEATING CAPACITY

The Vancity Culture Lab is a multipurpose room that can be configured to any style of performance. The following is a suggestion of configurations and maximum capacities.

1. 57 seats = 17’ deep x 30’ wide stage - seating diagram
2. 70 seats = 20’ deep x 25’ wide stage - seating diagram
3. 74 seats = 15’ deep x 30’ wide stage *standard configuration* - seating diagram
4. 82 seats = 12’ deep x 30’ wide stage - seating diagram
5. 108 seats = 12’ deep x 12’ wide stage - seating diagram

Clients are required to pay for all costs associated with the alteration of the standard setup and, at the conclusion of their rental, for returning the theatre to its neutral state.

In both venues, the number of seats is subject to confirmation upon receipt of your technical specifications. If in any doubt please contact our Rentals Coordinator.
