Youth PROGRAMS AT THE CULTCH The IGNITE! Mentorship Program The IGNITE! Mentorship Program offers a series of one-on-one mentorship opportunities in specific media to youth who want to pursue a career in the arts. This year, we are offering mentorships in Dance, Directing, Play Writing, Songwriting, and Spoken Word.In each of these areas, promising young artists will be paired with a mentor in their chosen media. The Cultch presents some of the most accomplished artists from across Canada and around the world. The Intensive program is designed to allow emerging artists in the community to access and learn from this incredible pool of talent. Imagine working collaboratively with a group of like-minded young people to make that dream a reality. Imagine learning from the city's top artists and administrators to make your festival the best it could possibly be. You've just imagined The Cultch's Youth Panel. Who is the Cultch's Youth Panel? The Youth Panel is a group of approximately 20 young people aged 14-24 from all over Vancouver with a passion for the performing arts. They are talented, energized and engaged. They are fun-loving, hilarious, and more than a little bit nuts. They are curious, committed, and intelligent. You and your friends are welcome to join. Why Join? Because it is fun. Because it is challenging. Because you will make new friends. Because you will learn a ton of new skills. Because you will laugh. Because you might cry. Because you will work harder than you ever have before. Because it will be worth it. Because this year we are home in our brand new $14-million facility. We've got two theatres to program, each equipped with state-of-the-art technical equipment that you will learn how to operate. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join, it doesn't matter if you consider yourself an artist or not. All you need is a passion for the contemporary arts, and a desire to learn and collaborate. It is 100% free. When and Where: You can join anytime. Please contact Youth Program Manager Corbin Murdoch for an orientation session. We meet in The Cultch's administrative offices, located at 1895 Venables St (on the corner of Venables and Victoria). Here is a map.
