The Cultch Playwriting Mentorship

2013 Playwriting Mentorship

The 2012/2013 Playwriting Mentorship Program is currently underway. We are now accepting submissions for the 2013/2014 season. (Though there is still time to create a play for the stage this season in our Directing (Devised Material) Mentorship Program.)

The two winners of the 2012 Young Playwrights’ Competition have been paired with two of Canada’s premiere playwrights: Dave Deveau and Amiel Gladstone. Working closely with their mentor, the two participants will edit and redraft their winning submissions, preparing the scripts to be handed off to the participants of the 2013 Directing Mentorship. These plays will be produced as part of the 2013 Theatre IGNITE! Festival. The shows will run May 6-May 11, 2013 in the Vancity Culture Lab at The Cultch.

To participate in the 2013/2014 Playwriting Mentorship Program beginning in the spring of 2013, you must submit a one-act play to the 2013 Young Playwrights Competition.

The deadline for submission is March 31, 2013.
