Everybody Dance Studio presents
A Night at the Palace Ballroom
Monday, April 21st, 2008 at 8pm

Times were tough during the Swing Era - first the depression and then the war. People escaped the harsh realities of life by going dancing. Some danced their cares away dreaming of romance and passion; some just kicked up their heels in joyous abandon.

The went to the Palace Ballroom, the rich and the poor...the young and the young at heart...the lights dimmed, and the horns began to wail...and they danced...

Come and hear that wonderful music: ballroom, jazz, and swing...and watch them dance during "A Night at the Palace Ballroom".

An amateur production by the students of Everybody Dance studio. Free dance lesson if you retain your ticket stub for the show.

The Cultch presents
Luminous Edge
by Thomas Arthur

April 24th - 26th, 2008 at 7pm

A tour de force solo performance pointing to a unity of nature, nurture, mathematics, art, science and mythology. In a masterful weaving of sound and motion, lyrical juggler Thomas Arthur explores the nature of order. With a supporting cast of orbiting spheres, hoops, spirals, geometric solids, roots, sticks, stones and cones – and even a parabolic space-time tunnel! –
Thomas spins a hypnotic flowing dance of visual music, poetic narration and projected imagery.

Luminous Edge tells the story of a Wizard’s apprentice and his struggle to learn new ways of being in a world on the verge of collapse. How do we learn to cooperate with the natural flow instead of trying to control it? The apprentice seeks to integrate the genius of the Wizard with the heart of the Shaman as he explores magical patterns reflected in geometric shapes and the objects of nature.
